Charlestown High School presented "Songs for a New World" this week. It was the final production for the year and the final on stage performance for Lily Carrico who is a Senior at CHS. Lily has been in theatre at CHS for the past 4 years. Best wishes to Lily as she graduates and begins a New World herself.
I went to the National Hot Rod Association show at the Kentucky Fairgrounds on Saturday with Aaron, Lukas and Saige. There were thousands of cars, trucks and vans but we were only able to see less than 1/3 of them. The weather was hot and humid and the kids were not very cooperative and really seemed to care less about the cars anyways, they were more interested in riding the escalator up and down. Of course my favorites were the '69 Firebirds of which I saw a beautiful silver/black and one that was deep red...very impressive. I think though my favorite of the show that I saw was the '66 Pontiac GTO. Here are a few pics from the show. Oh yeah I do have to comment on the prices of the concessions...they should be ashamed to charge $4.00 for one bottle of water and $7.00 for a single slice of cheese pizza...grrr.
